Posey County Council on Aging provides a relatively low cost demand response transportation service for the citizens of Posey County.
These services are open to Posey County residents and door to door, meaning riders can be picked up at their homes, dropped off at their desired destination, and returned to their homes.
We serve senior citizens and people with disabilities by providing door-to-door transportation. This enables them to have a more productive, independent, healthier and happier lifestyle. They rely on us to get them to treatments, appointments, and day-to-day errands.

Home assistants handle the tasks that seniors living at home can no longer perform.
Our professional assistants are responsible for laundry, sweeping, dusting, dishes, fixing meals or other needed homemaker services. They can also run errands and remind clients when it is time to take their medications.

If you make less than $2,116 per month (single) and are on Medicare, then you might qualify for assistance with Prescription drugs and expenses for your medical care.
SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program gives Help to people with Medicare. Posey County Council on Aging is proud to be an Enrollment Center for this program.

Did you know your smoke alarm has a life of 10 years?
Jerry Kuykendall with the Red Cross will install up to 3 smoke alarms free of charge in your home.
Give us a call and we can put your name on a list for installation. Special alarms for the hearing impaired are also
available.

Posey County Council on Aging has three centers. They are located in Mt. Vernon, New Harmony and Poseyville.They each offer a variety of activities throughout the week. You may find the activities of each center on our Event Calendar page.
All three locations accept a donation of $7.00 for each meal. Reservations must be made at least one day in advance. PCCA strives to make senior citizens the best they can be with the supportive services offered. Local contributions and donations are an important source of funding and are tax deductible. The Posey County Council on Aging is a non-profit agency created for the purpose of improving the life of older Americans. The primary objective of the Agency is threefold:
1. To enable older adults to live in their homes as long as possible with appropriate supportive services.
2. To remove individuals and social barriers to economic and personal independence for older persons, including the provision of opportunities for volunteer activities.
3. To act as an advocate of older persons in developing community resources for the aging throughout the Posey County area while providing a comprehensive service network.
